about

Hey guys! Here's my second song. This one's basically a dedication to the past, when I used to run every day and basically were care free. It's dedicated to my best friend Vince and all of the crazy stuff we used to get up to. It's also about letting go of the past and not being freaked out about the future, because honestly, the past isn't as great as you remember it. A lot of references to my life most of you won't understand but it's nice imagery I guess.

lyrics

How many miles did we have to run?
To get back to the place where we came from
The suburban sun

I can't recall, do you remember?
Everything to me seems like a blur
Or drunken slurs

Maybe it was all a lie
Nostalgia has played tricks on our eyes
Grow up and say your goodbyes

We were young for just an instant
Or maybe we're just drunk at Vince's

You could go to the eastern shore
Or drive until you don't feel lonely anymore
The world is yours

Don't get caught up in memories
You're 20 years old with a life to lead
Time flies when you're feeling alive

Maybe it was all a lie
The past has been oversimplified
Please don't let Allie pass you by

We were young for just an instant
Like the time we were drunk at Vince's

There's nothing left to run from
And time is on your side
Now you're back to square one
There's no way of slowing down
The banks that are overflowing now

Slide, wait for the moment, what does it feel like, outside?
Slide, wait for the moment, what does it feel like, outside?
